I'll fault Gingrich a lot of things. His love of science isn't one of them. Our country needs to start dreaming again. Planning for a future. The Republicans typically want to focus on war and tax cuts, when they're bashing gays or stopping vital stem cell research. Democrats want to help the poor, and that's fine, but it's not exactly shooting for the stars. Europe had its dream of unification. It may or may not be on the rocks with the issues surrounding the euro and the EU economy, but at least it was a vision, a dream, for the future. What's our national dream? Where do we want to be in 10, 20 years? (And "out of Afghanistan" and "out of debt" isn't a good enough answer.)
