I think there's a difference. At least there is if you're not a total pushover. I mean, seriously. Rick Santorum thinks a gay kid being bullied into committing suicide
is the same thing as Saturday Night Live satirizing a presidential candidate's outrageously conservative political views (remember, this is the man who famously compared gay relationships to men having sex with dogs).
If Rick Santorum is trying to suggest that he's contemplating suicide because the political pressure of running for president is just too much for him, then he really ought to step down, seek medical help, and leave the race to candidates with more mettle.
