It's amazing to think that the examples here are from the Roman empire. It's doubtful they were actually used by anyone in the military unless they were very senior because the price must have been enormous. An intricately designed Roman implement, which dates back to 200AD, it is made from silver but has an iron blade.
It features a spoon, fork as well as a retractable spike, spatula and small tooth-pick.
