Taxpayers face losses on Bush's auto bailout... but so what?

Yeah, I read the headline and thought "damn, we got screwed." But you know what, what else were we supposed to do? Potentially two million jobs were at stake, and we were on the brink of a depression. We were going to chuck two million jobs, and guarantee a depression, in order to stick to our money-saving principles? If we can get some money back, great. And as much as I don't like these ongoing bailouts, it's better than sending the nation into another great depression.
