Compared to the neighboring countries and considering how strong the agricultural output was even during his early years, it's a basket case. Having spent a good deal of time in southern Africa and being familiar with how it compares, Zimbabwe is a catastrophe. The sooner Robert Mugabe goes, the better.
"It is not a basket case at all," he said.
"Things are much better in terms of food. We have had hard years... years of drought. Sanctions as well. Combine effects of drought and sanctions and what do you get?"
