British government apologizes for chemical castration of gay man who helped break Enigma code & was father of Computer Service

It's a horrible story, and one most people don't know. Alan Turing is considered by many the "father of computer science." His work was also instrumental in breaking the German Enigma code during WWII. But he was gay. So the Brits had him "chemically castrated," took away his security clearances (and thus his career), so he killed himself. TIME magazine has named Turing one of the 100 most important people of the 20th century. He was that big. And now he's been officially exonerated. Just a very sad story.
