I think some black leaders, especially the Congressional Black Caucus, were far too quick to embrace Burris simply because he's black. I learned a long time ago, being gay, that you have to be careful what embattled heroes you tie your wagon to, lest they end up being less than reputable, and hurt your cause. Burris is quickly turning into one such "hero." It appears that black church leaders in Chicago, who once supported Burris, are now ready to walk. Good for them.
