Queer as a five dollar bill

Not that I object to lavender, but still... I noticed yesterday, while buying milk, that the number 5 on a five dollar bill just went lavender. In addition, there's a big red smudge down the center of the bill (that isn't just the photo) like someone spilled grape juice on it (or bled on it). These constant, non-stop, little tweaks to the currency are very unsettling. It's as if they think we won't notice if they just do it incrementally. We're going to end up with silly multi-colored European money, mark my words.
