GOP House leader John Boehner really needs to make up his mind. Does he think Iraq is in trouble, that Bush needs to show some progress fast, that we need to change the course, or does he think that everything is going great and Congress should yet again give Bush a blank check for continuing his little war indefinitely? On Sunday, Boehner was all for standing up to Bush. Today, he's back to his you-hate-the-troops-if-you-demand-accountability-from-Bush rhetoric.
So which one is it, Mr. Boehner? Are you for changing the course of this war, or are you just another blank check for George Bush and this growing disaster?
Boehner four days ago:
"By the time we get to September or October, members are going to want to know how well this is working, and if it isn't, what's Plan B?"Boehner today:
"Enough is enough," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. "It is time to get a clean bill to the president's desk and really support our troops."So which Boehner are we seeing today? The one who thinks someone needs to slap some reality into George Bush, or the one who is for rubber-stamping this disaster of a war and who thinks that the majority of Americans don't support the troops?
Vote Republican if you think the war is going great.
