Pentagon official, who attacked law firms that represent detainees, resigns

Oh, there's more to this story. No one in George Bush's administration is forced to resign because he accused someone of being un-American for defending the Bill of Rights. That takes place on a daily basis, usually from the White House. I'd love to know what really happened here.
