Nepal parliament reduces power of monarch

So-called King Gyanendra has been brought back down to earth and will essentially become a figurehead, for whatever that is worth. Besides having his political power trimmed, he has lost power over the military and will now have to pay taxes like everyone else in Nepal. His sponging days and episodes of brutality are apparently over.
