Who does PR for MasterCard? Somehow they think that 68,000 is an acceptable number but considering the fact that the loss of 40 million accounts happened around a month ago, I'm not entirely sure I would believe anything that these people are saying. And that pesky little problem of identity theft? No worries at all. Just relax bebcause the same brilliant bunch that lost your data is on the case. Apparently they also have a "tracking system" that noticed unusual transactions.
Uh huh, great. Radical thought here, but there are plenty of solutions out there these days that notice unusual transactions in real-time and not after the fact so maybe it's time to jump into 2005. Not always an easy task though down in Georgia where our good old pal Ralph Reed is running for office.
