Down and Out in Paris and London meets the internet

A few funny and sometimes horrifying blogs for the restaurant industry are out and might make you think twice about being civil the next time you go out for dinner. I worked for six years waiting tables and loved Orwell's stories about his time working in restaurants because sixty years later they were still pretty accurate. This article in the Times gives a summary of some of the restaurant blogs out there and what they're saying...and doing.

Jesse Elizondo, a waiter who has worked in New York restaurants for 10 years, says that's because customers generally forget how vulnerable they are to the good will of servers. "I can never understand why anyone would be even the slightest bit rude to someone who is about to touch your food," he said.
What are people thinking when they're rude and aggressive to the person bringing their food? You might be surprised how offensive people can be and maybe even more surprised at the paybacks.
