Where does the military find idiots like Brig. Gen. Jeffery Sorenson? Naturally the military has to research new products for ever-changing situations but the last time I checked, the requests for armor on the Humvees started from the very beginning of the invasion. He also makes it sound as though there are countless options for providing armor for the Humvees yet the troops in the field are settling for scrap yard pieces so something just doesn't make sense here. It must be nice propping your feet up on a desk in the Pentagon while you watch others die because you can't get your shit together for a basic request that has been on the table for 18 months. It's the CYA/I didn't do it guy over and over and over with this crowd and it starts at the top.
"This is not Wal-Mart ... this is a very detailed process in terms of trying to get this capability," said Brig. Gen. Jeffery Sorenson, adding that it takes time to study, develop, test and produce equipment needed against what commanders say is a sophisticated and ever-adapting enemy.
