Senators Orrin Hatch and Jim Talent (another right-wing nut case) penned an op ed in today's Washington Times calling for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. This troubles me. as much as a lot of folks think (hope) that the amendment is dead in the water, op eds like this worry me because they suggest that some members of Congress are still interested in stirring the waters on this issue (or, in Hatch's case, it's possible he's writing this as a CYA, since the religious right recently got pissed at him because he was being equivocal about their version of the amendment). As always, keep an eye on this issue because I don't believe for a minute that we've "won."
