Attempting to deny that she invoked September 11 to defend Bush's pro-life abortion politics, Karen Hughes did it again in today's Washington Post:
In an e-mail to The Post, [Karen Hughes] denied likening protesters to terrorists: 'That is a gross distortion and I would never make such a comparison. Surely even the most strident of partisans, and reasonable people on both sides of the abortion issue, can agree that we have been reminded of the precious nature of human life [by September 11, she means] and that we ought to work to reduce the number of abortions in America.'
